Magic

Magic is all around us, magic is magic. It is an essence that permeates all around us, and is essentially infinite.

But as creatures, we want to categorize, express and dissect magic, thus we have found that there is inner magic (pulled from the body's reserves), outer magic (pulled from the environment), channelled magic (pulled from a distance source with which one has a connection) and crystallized magic (pulled from a physical representation of magic that has been condensed). In the end, all these are all the same magic, but to its users, the perception is very different.

In the way creatures invoke and use magic, there are variations, codified magic, which depends on a repetitive ritual or act and intuitive magic which is about controlling the specific flow at the moment of casting. Both of these are completely valid ways of using the power of magic, and if there is any difference, it is that usually codified magic is more efficient in its use, but slower to invoke, whereas intuitive is faster and tends to place a greater strain on the user.

Most monsters, as we name them, are intuitive magic users and many of them are able to access the inner magic, but few are able to access the crystallized magic in their own body, only being able to access it when consuming a crystal of another animal. In a strange way, the crystallized reserve created in most creature's bodies are a protection against an overabundance of mana, thus the crystals grow over time.
